Alaska Fireweed (Fireweed Fragrance)
A beautiful wild flower, growing in Alaska and elsewhere, from dwarf size to 4-5" tall. This plant has blossoms beginning about 1/3rd of the way up the stem, flowers opening at the bottom and moving up to the top of the plant. After the blossoming, the seed pods burst into a cloud of white fluffy foam which the winds blows about like dandelion seeds. The stem and leaves of the plant then turn a deep red. Called "Fireweed" because they are the first plant to come up after a fire has burned an area.
